Splendid Handbags In Our Sites

This, of course, poses a great temptation for brand-conscious Hong Kong consumers. One socialite and public re-lations company director, who does not wish to be named, says she considers a trip to Shenzhen "great fun". She has stocked up on fakes including an LV bag for $ 500, some $ 100 Prada bags and $ 10 Prada cosmetics bags. "They are my best buys. They come in all colours. At $ 10 each, they're nothing," says the woman who spends $ 3,000 on knock-offs and meals when she crosses the border.
"They do such great imitations of LV and Prada bags. Mine look 95 per cent like the real thing. They don't last, but then what can you expect for such a low price?" she says. She doesn't feel in the least bit guilty about boosting sales of bogus goods. "Why not indeed? I don't think buying one to two products matters. I buy for fun, it's an experiment. I still buy the real stuff. I'd tell my friends that these are fakes. We treat it as a joke."
But a joke to socialites is considered a "criminal offence" by Thiry, LV's legal counsel. "In France, it's illegal even to buy fake products. We have zero tolerance there, but in Hong Kong there's no such provision. I think we should make it a consumer liability, that it is an offence to bring in counterfeits across the border."
How to tell a real Louis Vuitton Vernis handbag from a fake:
The stitching on the genuine product has a hand-made appearance, while the light brown leather strap is softer than on fakes.
The inner lining of the original is made of leather of the same colour, not of suede or silk.
All genuine LV products have an identical monogrammed pattern.
Most genuine styles are available in a limited number of colours, while fakes tend to come in a variety of colours and often invented styles.

Replicahandbags And Christian Louboutin Shoes

It is not until the last store, where huge amounts of rip-offs are spotted, that the operation proves more successful. Chee and Yeung sweep fake Fendi and LV bags, brown LV signature luggage, and Christian wallets, handbags and ruck-sacks onto the floor until the shop is almost emptied.
The shopkeeper is surprisingly co-operative. "I'll help count the bags," he says respectfully, grabbing five and counting one, in an attempt to reduce the fine, which depends on the quantity and value of goods seized. The shopkee-per then reluctantly takes out several thousand dollars from a drawer for confiscation while pleading to the officials: "This isn't the shop's cash from business. I just took the money from my home."
Meanwhile, a salesgirl tries to snatch some bags and run off but is caught by Yeung. "How dare you steal confis-cated property?" he says, infuriated. "You want to play tricks? I'll confiscate every single bag in the shop."
"One down and a billion to go," says Cheung of the operation. "Because of more frequent enforcement actions, people here are getting smarter and more vigilant."
Yeung adds: "Although the guys pulling the strings are from Hong Kong, many of whom have triad links, the guys actually running the stores are mostly Chiuchow, who are very united, organised and experienced. That's why the TSB officials have to dress in plain clothes and take taxis because the shopkeepers recognise their cars from miles away and notify everybody."

Qualified High Replicahandbags in Here

Reached at his Brandon home Tuesday, Register declined to comment.
The Web site registered to his name was a bargain shopper's dream. The site, which has been disabled, offered rep-licas of watches from Cartier, Rolex, Movado and others at a fraction of the price of the authentic watches.
The site also offered knockoffs of handbags from Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior and jewelry from Tiffany & Co., as well as other luxury purveyors.
The goods were clearly labeled as fakes.
"You will find that items like our replica Rolex watches and replica Louis Vuitton handbags are very similar qualities to those of the originals," the site said, according to court documents.
But lawyers for Cartier said it didn't matter whether the buyers were aware they weren't getting the real thing. Be-cause they were such exact copies, the watches sold on the Exquisite Styles Web site violated trademark laws, the law-yers argued.

Also, you know, Chinese Teapots are famous in whole world. And, China-mobile Phones are so economic, not only their prices, also their performance and appearance.

Balenciaga's new owners

But since Paris now bursts with tortured but brilliant young design minds, a hot status as the cool darling of certain sets is not likely to be enough especially for Balenciaga's new owners, the French retail conglomerate Pi-nault-Printemps-Redoute (PPR). "I want to make my work more understandable, more accessible," says Ghesquiere, 33, with an intense, blue-eyed stare and a witty but genuine flair for self-deprecation. "I want it to be, mmm, easier."
We are sitting in Balenciaga HQ, a haughty 18th-century dove-grey stone building on the Left Bank. Three im-maculate cigarettes are lined up by an assistant next to an immaculate ashtray on a huge white table, bare except for a bottle of Evian and a stack of models' cards. It is four days since his autumn/winter '05 show, a make-or-break point for Ghesquiere since the departure of his mentor Tom Ford from Gucci, Balenciaga's parent company, and the arrival of PPR.

Balenciaga emblematic of cool

Balenciaga, emblematic of cool, blue-blooded haute couture, has reinvented itself -but kept its dignity. So how did Nicolas Ghesquiere do it, asks Emily Davies
Very often in fashion, the buzz attributed to certain designers does not translate beyond the tight sphere of editors, stylists and a few stylesavvy celebrities into sales. The mists of hype and hyperbole are very good indeed at obscuring commercial reality (though not, crucially, to the accountants).
At Balenciaga Nicolas Ghesquiere has had an impressive run of seasons including his influential "scuba" collec-tion of spring/summer 2003 -when he received the right attention from exactly the right places, but the stock didn't al-ways shift with equivalent pizazz. (Mysterious production problems with the clothes' fit in the beginning -Ghesquiere likes to cut narrowly, but some pieces looked more suited to a snake -didn't help). Still, since he first became creative director in 1997, the best names -from early on Kate Moss, the stylist George Cortina and "fashion fashion fashion person", as Ghesquiere calls her, Chloe Sevigny -have been signed up.
